Sky Bar
Snøhetta is responsible for the Sky Bar design concept, which also includes the design of all the fixed furniture. The furniture is employed with the upholstery textiles Remix and Canvas.
“We have enjoyed a long-standing collaboration with Kvadrat for many years and are always very satisfied with their design and the quality of their work,” Nina Bjerve Andresen, project manager.
With the city acting as a vibrant backdrop, the interior comprises a landscape of sculptural forms, which create a series of open, accommodating spaces. The seating is on two levels to deliver both intimate and more inclusive areas.
The palette comprises tones that can be characterised as close to nature. Examples include a dark sky-blue wall facing the façade and a warm brass wall that resembles fire. Lighting in the ceiling is kept to a minimum to ensure the views are always the focal point.
The Sky Bar at the Radisson Blu Scandinavia Hotel in Oslo is on the 21st floor, where it provides spectacular views over the Norwegian capital. Its renovation was completed in June 2016.
