Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Sun | The Westin Brisbane hotel
The Westin Brisbane hotel features a harmonic constellation of Kvadrat textiles. Specified in a rich variety of tones, patterns and textures, these feature on furniture, walls, panels, accessories and curtains throughout the city centre hotel.
At the Westin Brisbane, the colour concept reflects the local climate and has a high-end corporate aesthetic. The palette combines sophisticated, warm, natural nuances complemented by bolder notes.
In the guest rooms, Grid and Colline are used on the furniture. Wall panels, which also feature in the corridors, are upholstered in Tek Wall. The rooms in the Penthouse incorporate a variety of unicoloured and patterned textiles, including Steelcut Trio, Star, Harald, and Byram.
Moving to the communal spaces, the furniture in the Executive Lounge is upholstered with Mineral, Lariat, Point, Sonar and Dots. Mineral also plays a role in the Eden’s Table restaurant while curtains crafted from Zulu hang in the Private Bar. Frost is used for the window coverings in the Spa alongside Casa and Alloy on the seating. The loose cushions by the pool are specified in Mister.
Elsewhere at the hotel, operable and fixed wall panels featuring Sharkskin are in the Ballroom. And in the Lift Lobby Lounges, the diverse selection of upholstery textiles includes Harald, Agency, Keen, Byram, Raas, Velvet Stripe, Big Stripe and Byram.
Deena O’Callahan, Project Management: “Kvadrat in Brisbane is a joy to be involved with. Rep Katie King's expertise, in providing solutions to various challenges over a three-year period, is to be complimented. The owner made significant changes to the original design specification, and we were assisted at every step of the way towards achieving the desired result.”
