Museum für Film und Fernsehen

The Museum für Film und Fernsehen houses a Film and Television Museum and the Deutsche Kinemathek (German Film Archive). It is located at Potsdamer Platz in Berlin. The museum offers a multimedia journey through German film history. Divided into a number of separate spaces, it explores the relationship between the moving image and society.

Divina is used at the museum for acoustic curtains hung on a system of rails. These are utilised to partition a space into rooms with good acoustic properties. They also allow for a fully darkened room to be created for film screenings. The colours chosen match the context of the museum. The green matches the glazing of building’s facade, as well as the surrounding lime trees and the ‘Green Screen’ filmmaking technique. The blue hue implements a calmer, more prestigious feel.

'Divina was chosen due to its natural 100% wool, longevity and ease of fitting. The cool metal and glass that characterises the building structure is softened by the heavy yet gentle texture of the textile.'
