Project
Kvadrat upholstery textiles have been chosen for use in DELA buildings in the Netherlands. DELA, a cooperative with over 3 million members, arranges funerals and offers comprehensive support and services to the bereaved.
The connection and caring between people and the memories of loved ones are of utmost importance. Hence, the design concept is based on providing sympathetic yet unobtrusive surroundings that play an integral part in creating the right atmosphere for those grieving before, during, and even after the funeral.
The fabric colours selected by Interne Zaken interior architects match DELA’s visual identity. This helps to
ensure that every DELA premises will offer an appropriate, positive and comfortable atmosphere – and a welcoming, recognisable environment.
Solution
All chairs, armchairs, settees and stools are upholstered with Tonus or Hallingdal 65. Tonus is used in fresh unicolours. Hallingdal 65, chosen for the depth of detail of its double woven pattern, is employed in a wide range of colours.
‘We opted for Kvadrat fabrics that focus on sustainability in both production and use. Their quality, and the wide choice of basic and accent colours they come in, provides great design freedom. They enabled us to achieve the atmosphere, look and feel we desired,’ Peter Littmann, Director and owner of Interne Zaken
