Nina Koppel graduated in textile design from The School of Arts and Crafts in Copenhagen in 1966, returning to teach there later in her career.

Koppel did not restrict herself to textile design however; she collaborated with other artists throughout her career and created clothing and soft furnishings along with successful jewellery designs.

Her intelligent and empathetic designs have been exhibited in several significant venues including The Danish Museum of Decorative Art.
